Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Leeway iOS application ("the App") operated by Leeway ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of the service

Leeway is a personal finance logging application that allows users to record spending and income entries in natural language and view budget feedback based on a user-defined pay cycle. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Leeway. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. Users under 18 should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

3. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on your personal iOS devices for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense any part of the App.

4. Subscription and free trial

Leeway offers a free trial period followed by a paid subscription. The following terms apply:

• Free trial: New users receive a 7-day free trial. No charge is made during the trial period.
• Subscription access: After the free trial ends, continued access requires an active subscription.
• Subscription billing: Subscription fees are charged at the interval you selected (monthly or annual) through Apple's App Store. Pricing is displayed in the App before purchase.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal charges are applied within 24 hours prior to the renewal date.
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time through your Apple ID account settings or the App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued.
• Refunds: All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store Terms.

5. User content

All data you enter into Leeway (entries, amounts, notes, and settings) is stored locally on your device. We do not access, store, or process your content on our servers. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of information you enter. You retain full ownership of your data.

6. Not financial advice

Leeway is a personal logging and budgeting tool. It is not a financial advisor, accountant, or bank. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Budget calculations are based solely on the data you provide. Always consult a qualified professional for financial decisions.

7. Accuracy of calculations

We make reasonable efforts to ensure budget calculations are accurate. However, we do not guarantee that all calculations are free from error. You should independently verify any figures before making financial decisions based on them.

8. Prohibited uses

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's integrity or performance
• Use the App in any manner that could harm other users

9. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, name, logo, and all associated content, is owned by Leeway and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or branding.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the App is at your sole risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Leeway and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App — including but not limited to loss of data, financial loss, or loss of profits — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months prior to the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Leeway and its developers from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to the App or Terms

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is located, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
